DPS Fugitive Team Captures Iredell’s Two Most Wanted
STATESVILLE – The Department of Public Safety’s Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team recently arrested two of Iredell County’s most wanted suspects, Dravey Mayfield and Tevin O’Brian Dalton.
Special agents with DPS’s Alcohol Law Enforcement FAST team apprehended Mayfield on Aug. 1 and Dalton on Aug. 10.
Mayfield, 19, had outstanding warrants for possessing a firearm by a felon and discharging a firearm within city limits.
Dalton, 21, had two felony orders for arrest for failure to appear on felony probation violations, identity theft, obtaining property under false pretenses and uttering a forged instrument. Dalton was also arrested on an order for arrest for a failure to appear on a possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia charges. He was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana after a small amount was found in his possession at time of arrest.
The Statesville Police Department requested assistance from DPS’s Alcohol Law Enforcement agency to help apprehend Mayfield. The two agencies captured him in Statesville. He was taken to the Iredell County jail and held on a $20,000 bond.
The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office requested the ALE FAST team to help capture Dalton. He was captured in the parking lot of a local business. Dalton was taken to the Iredell County jail and held on a $101,500 bond.
“This is another example of how Iredell County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies can come together with combined resources on the ground in our neighborhoods, to target criminals who are a threat to the citizens,” said Major Darren Campbell of the Sheriff’s Office.
“Once the Statesville police department and the Iredell County sheriff’s office requested ALE’s assistance, the fugitives were apprehended the following day,” said ALE Director Greg Baker. “Assisting local law enforcement is one of the many ways ALE works to ensure safer communities in our state.”
