RALEIGH -- The North Carolina State Highway Patrol promoted 39 of its members to higher ranks in a ceremony held October 29 at Colonial Baptist Church in Cary. Included in the promotions are new troop commanders for the Patrol’s Troop Headquarters offices in Raleigh, Asheville and Monroe.
“Every one of these troopers has worked hard to earn these promotions,” said Colonel Richard W. Holden, commander of the Highway Patrol. “I’m confident they will continue to do good work at their new duty stations.”
“Each promotion is well deserved for these 39 officers who, in their various capacities, help protect the public by enforcing the state’s motor vehicle laws,” said Bryan E. Beatty, secretary of the Department of Crime Control and Public Safety. “The Highway Patrol carries a high standard of law enforcement, one that is recognized throughout the state.”
