RALEIGH -- The North Carolina State Highway Patrol promoted 19 of its members to higher ranks in a ceremony held March 16, 2001, at the Kerr Scott Building on the North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raleigh.
"These Troopers have worked hard to earn these promotions," said Colonel R. W. Holden, commander of the Highway Patrol. "I'm confident they will continue to do good work at their new duty stations."
"The Highway Patrol is a proud organization with a rich history," said Bryan E. Beatty, secretary of the Department of Crime Control and Public Safety. "These newly promoted officers have the skills, training, and experience to keep the Patrol at the forefront of professional law enforcement as we move into the next century."
