LOCAL RESIDENT GRADUATES FROM ALCOHOL LAW ENFORCMENT BASIC SCHOOL |
RALEIGH-New agents recently graduated from the 15th Basic School of the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Division (A.L.E.) and are reporting for duty throughout the state.
"The State of North Carolina is very proud of the N.C. Division of Alcohol Law Enforcement and its newest agents," said Bryan E. Beatty, secretary of the N.C. Department of Crime Control & Public Safety (CC&PS). "These agents excelled during the basic training, and I know they will continue to do their best to serve North Carolina's citizens." A.L.E. is a division within CC&PS.
The graduates, their hometown and duty assignments are: Joseph Bryant Barringer of Sylva, assigned to District VIII in Charlotte; Russell Earl King of Washington, assigned to District III in New Bern; and, Robert Charles Otis of Sanford, assigned to District IV in Raleigh.
"Our Basic School provides the specialized training our agents need," said John D. Smith, III, A.L.E. director. "We will build on this solid foundation through field training and annual in-service training."
Trainees completed extensive training -- both academic and practical -- in areas such as ABC Laws and regulations, firearms, CPR, defensive tactics, controlled substances, officer survival, and defensive driving techniques.
These new agents will continue to learn as on-the-job training and in-service schools boost their experience throughout their careers.
