| RE: | EASLEY TO TOUR NATIONAL GUARD FACILITY |
|
Raleigh - Gov. Mike Easley will tour the N.C. Military Center, headquarters of the N.C. National Guard, located at 4105 Reedy Creek Road in Raleigh on Monday, October 1 at 1:30 p.m. While there, he will be briefed by Adjutant General William Ingram Jr. and Crime Control and Public Safety Secretary Bryan Beatty on the current status of the Guard deployment to assist with airport security at North Carolina's commercial airports. Note to reporters: Due to federal security requirements at National Guard facilities, you will need to arrive by 1:00 p.m. Monday in order to clear security prior to the Governor's visit. You will need to have a photo I-D card and a company/media I-D. The Department of Crime Control and Public Safety's media I-D card will suffice for the latter. The Military Center is located on Reedy Creek Road which is off Blue Ridge Road across from the old Polk Youth Center and the N.C. Museum of Art. Turn onto Reedy Creek Road and go past the Military Center complex, following the signs to the security checkpoint. Someone from the National Guard will show you where to park your vehicles and direct you to the appropriate area for the Governor's arrival. If you need additional directions, please call the Guard's Public Affairs Office at 919-664-6242. |
