The Governor's Crime Commission, a Division of the Department of Crime Control & Public Safety, will be honored for its exceptional support to crime victims' programs at the N.C. Victim Assistance Network conference this week in Asheville. The award ceremony will take place during the annual luncheon of the "Bringing Honor To Victims" conference at the Renaissance Hotel, 1 Thomas Wolfe Plaza, Asheville. The luncheon will be held August 8th from 12:00 - 1:45 p.m. For a complete schedule of the conference, see the conference brochure on the web at http://www.nc-van.org/pdf/registration.pdf The Commission is the chief advisory board to the Governor and Secretary for the development and implementation of criminal justice policy, and administers federal grant funds to local and state law enforcement, criminal justice, and victims' programs.
