| RE: | N.C. Disaster Response Warehouse opening |
|
N.C. Crime Control and Public Safety Secretary Bryan Beatty, Congressman David Price and Congressman Robin Hayes will announce the purchase of a warehouse facility for the North Carolina Emergency Management Division at a news conference and ribbon cutting ceremony on June 5th. The event will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the warehouse 40592 Airport Road (SR-1549) across from the Stanly County Airport near Badin. Having the centrally located warehouse stocked with supplies will improve North Carolina's ability to respond to disasters anywhere in the state. As hurricane season is now underway, this is an especially timely story. It will also be visual and you will have an opportunity to tour the warehouse, seeing the types of supplies and equipment that will be housed there. The N.C. Air Guard will have one of its C-130 aircraft on static display near the airport terminal that morning. If you have any questions, please call my office at 919-733-3219. DIRECTIONS TO THE WAREHOUSE: From US-52 at New London, take NC-740 toward Badin and turn onto Airport Road (SR-1549). The warehouse is approximately a quarter mile south of the airport entrance. |
