Food and Water
Deaflink Video

When a disaster occurs, you might not have access to food, water or electricity for days, perhaps even weeks. Plan ahead and have enough food and water stored that will supply you and your family for at least three to seven days.

Be sure your water has not become contaminated or your food has spoiled.  Those who find themselves in a tight situation often hope a perishable food such as meat, eggs and milk will somehow be safe to consume, but the illness that  often results comes at a time when they are least able to cope.

Be prepared by having food on hand that does not require refrigeration and can be eaten cold or heated on an outdoor grill.
