Bicycle Safety

Bicycling is good exercise and fun for children and adults. Children, however, don't really understand the dangers of traffic.

• Be sure to wear a helmet every time you ride your bicycle.
• Don't ride a bike that is too big for you.
• Ride with both hands on the handlebars.
• Before riding out of your driveway, stop and look both ways.
• Always watch for cars.
• Keep off of busy streets.
• Don't do tricks in the road.
• Don't ride at night.
• Ride on the right hand side of the road, with the direction of traffic.
• Stop at stop signs.
• Obey all traffic signs and signals.
