ALE AND FAYETTEVILLE POLICE RAID UNLICENSED SPORTS BAR
Arrest Made, Cocaine and Alcohol Seized
RALEIGH – A joint state and local investigation has resulted in an unlicensed sports bar being shut down in Fayetteville, one person arrested, and cocaine and alcohol seized. The investigation is continuing and more charges are possible.
On Saturday, agents with the N.C. Alcohol Law Enforcement Division and officers with the Fayetteville Police Department executed a search warrant at New Adventures Restaurant, 140 Blount St.
Rosa Elaine Ashford of 525 Country Club Drive, Fayetteville was charged with one count of possessing alcohol for sale without a permit.
Items seized included 28 grams of crack cocaine with a street value of about $2,800, 81 cans of beer, two bottles of liquor and one bottle of wine.
“This raid marks the fourth time this year that our agents have cracked down on a Fayetteville establishment selling alcohol without a permit,” said ALE Special Agent Derwin Brayboy. “These bars and clubs are used by local drug dealers and are a major source of criminal activity in the community.”
Other raids since January include Club Rainbow, 3308 Bragg Blvd., one arrest made; Club Katz, 5220-B Murchison Road, 18 people arrested; and The Precinct Night Club, 333 Person St., two arrests.
ALE is a division of the N.C. Department of Crime Control and Public Safety. Its agents have authority to arrest and take investigatory action for any criminal offense.
