STATE TROOPER RECEIVES DEPARTMENT AWARD
RALEIGH— Bryan Beatty, Secretary of the N.C. Department of Crime Control & Public Safety (CC&PS), and Colonel W. Fletcher Clay, Commander of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, will present Trooper Dwight Green the Department's Meritorious Service Award in a ceremony on Thursday, July 12th. Trooper Green is assigned to Johnston County.
“Trooper Green's actions on December 10, 2006, resulted in the apprehension of a hit and run suspect and the seizure of illegal narcotics worth $100,000,” said Beatty. “Trooper Green is to be commended for his actions.”
On December 10, 2006, Trooper Green was investigating a hit and run collision in Johnston County. While interviewing the suspect at his residence Trooper Green became suspicious of criminal activity and contacted the Johnston County Sheriff's Department. A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of illegal narcotics valued at $100,000.
“Trooper Green's' training and investigative skills resulted in the seizure of illegal narcotics and the arrest of a drug dealer in Johnston County,” said Colonel W. Fletcher Clay, Highway Patrol Commander.” “This level of service exemplifies what it means to be a State Trooper—to serve others.”
The Meritorious Service Award is the Department's award for clearly outstanding accomplishments and employee dedication to duty.
