WHAT:           Gov. Mike Easley and Secretary Bryan Beatty will discuss state preparations for the 2007 hurricane season.

                        Representatives from the Division of Emergency Management, N.C. National Guard, State Highway Patrol, Salvation Army and Citizen Corps will be available to answer questions about preparations within their agencies.

                        An emergency preparedness kit will be on display.         Demonstrations are available of what items should be included and why it is so important to prepare a kit. As we saw in the 2005 hurricane season, personal preparedness for emergencies is crucial to health and safety in the first few days after a storm.
