Butner Public Safety to Display Two New Fire Engines

Butner Public Safety will host an open house on Monday, June 20, 2005, from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. to showcase two new fire trucks for the Butner community in Granville County.  The event will be held at the Butner Public Safety building at 611 Central Avenue in Butner.

The new vehicles are a pumper-tanker truck and a ladder truck.  The pumper-tanker truck was purchased with $227,000 from the 2004 U.S. Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program and a 10-percent state match. The ladder truck was purchased with $482,295 appropriated by the N.C. General Assembly in 2004.

A ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m.  Among those making remarks will be U.S. Rep. Brad Miller, N.C. Rep. James Crawford, CCPS Secretary Bryan Beatty, and Butner Public Safety Chief Michael Dupree.
