Missing Hoke County Child Located in South Carolina

 

RALEIGH - The N.C. Center for Missing Persons has been notified that Zuleyma Gonzales, the 13-year old girl who was allegedly abducted from East Hoke Middle School yesterday, has been found unharmed by the North Charleston, SC, police department. The suspect in the abduction, Samuel Ramos, is in custody. The AMBER Alert issued yesterday afternoon has been cancelled.

Original Press Release From Sept. 1: The N.C. Center for Missing Persons has issued an AMBER Alert over the Emergency Alert System for a 13 year-old Hispanic girl who was last seen leaving East Hoke Middle School in Raeford in a 1995 white Nissan truck, N.C. license tag number SPC-4527.

The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office contacted the Center just after 3:00 this afternoon to request the alert be broadcast. It was sent regionally to 31 counties including Cumberland, Hoke, Bladen, Sampson, Duplin, Robeson, Scotland, Columbus, Brunswick, New Hanover, Onslow and Pender counties.

Citizens are asked to be on the lookout for Zuleyma Gonzales, approximately four feet tall and, 65 pounds. Zuleyma was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and capri-length blue jeans and white sandals.

The alleged abductor is Samuel Ramos, an Hispanic male, approximately 30 years-old, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 150 pounds, black hair and brown eyes.

The alert has been entered into the National Criminal Information Center and into the state DCI system for law enforcement.
