RALEIGH -- The North Carolina State Highway Patrol promoted 38 of its members to higher ranks in a ceremony held today, September 1, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Colonial Baptist Church in Cary.

“The Highway Patrol is a proud organization with a rich history,” said Colonel W. Fletcher Clay, Commander of the Highway Patrol. “These Troopers and Motor Carrier Enforcement Officers will continue the Patrol’s progression toward excellence by providing quality service to the citizens of North Carolina; they have worked hard to earn these promotions.”

“These newly promoted Troopers and officers have the skills, training, and experience to keep the Patrol at the forefront of professional law enforcement,” said Bryan E. Beatty, Secretary of the Department of Crime Control and Public Safety.
