2004 Safe Communities Conference to be held in Charlotte
The Governor’s Crime Commission’s Safe Communities Conference will be held Wed., Oct. 27 through Friday, Oct. 29 at the Adams Mark Hotel, Charlotte. The theme of the conference is Effective Strategies for Safer Communities, Today, Tomorrow and Together.

Highlights include an international keynote address at 3:15 Wednesday by Sir John Stevens, Commissioner of the London Metropolitan Police (Scotland Yard). He will talk about managing attacks of groups such as the IRA and organized crime.
On Friday morning at 9:30, the Safe Community Awards will be presented honoring agencies and individuals who have made a significant impact on public safety in North Carolina.
