Bullying Prevention: Bullying is a widespread problem for our nation's youth. Bullying and teasing are cited as the top school troubles for students ages 8 to 15. The National Crime Prevention Council's bullying prevention campaign is designed to counteract bullying at a young age. The television public service announcement, "Bully Hotline" features McGruff encouraging kids to intervene in a bullying incident. If you are interested in having this PSA air in your neighborhood, please contact your local television station and request it. Have the television station contact Starr Barbaro at (919) 733-4564 for a copy of the PSA.
Internet Safety: Children can be harassed online by classmates, exposed to inappropriate material through email and websites, or become vulnerable to adults posing as children online. In an effort to raise awareness of online pitfalls, NCPC has developed a new Internet Safety campaign to educate children and parents about safety strategies when they are online. If you are interested in hearing this PSA on your local radio station, please contact them and request it. Have the radio station contact Starr Barbaro at (919) 733-4564 for a copy of the PSA.
