Bennie Aiken |
Bennie Aiken was named assistant secretary for the N.C. Department of Crime Control and Public Safety July 7, 2010. He oversees the fiscal, human resources, information systems, and internal audit sections of the department, as well as the Criminal Justice Information Network.
Mr. Aiken joined the department on April 1, 1993, working in the Fiscal Section as assistant controller. He was promoted to department controller on Feb. 16, 2001 and has served in this position until his appointment as assistant secretary. Aiken has many years of experience in various aspects of financial management in both corporate and governmental assignments. |

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of South Carolina in 1979. Aiken and his wife, Gail, have three children, Adrienne, Jessica and Suzette. | |
