The Civil Air Patrol Division

North Carolina's Civil Air Patrol volunteers provide aviation and ground support during state emergencies such as hurricanes.  The Civil Air Patrol Division is responsible for serving as the state's liaison to the North Carolina Wing of the Civil Air Patrol.   

The CAP Division moved from the Department of Military Affairs to the North Carolina Department of Crime Control and Public Safety in 1979 following ratification into North Carolina's Executive Organization.

The division has a staff of two full-time employees, based in Burlington, N.C., near the Burlington-Alamance Airport.  Lt Col Lucy Davis serves as the Division Director and Capt Andrew Wiggs serves as the administrative section Chief. The division reports to the CCPS Deputy Secretary Gerald A. Rudisill, Jr.
