New Surry County Flood Insurance Rate Maps Available for Public Review
(Raleigh) On Thursday, August 28, Surry County residents will be able to review and discuss preliminary copies of newly updated Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) for the county which is in the Yadkin and Roanoke River Basins.

Operation Road Watch
(Asheville) Beginning Tuesday morning, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and the Tennessee Highway Patrol will conduct Operation Road Watch to crackdown on motor carrier safety violations on North Carolina and Tennessee highways.
